Collections
The Southwest Minnesota Historical Center is a regional research repository containing materials from 15 counties in Southwest Minnesota. Materials in this collection include public/government records, business records, church records, oral history interviews, and local newspapers. Note that this collection is still being processed and materials continue to be added to the search index.
The Striegel Archives houses materials considered significant enough to SMSU to merit a permanent place in the Library. These archives document the history of SMSU administration, classes, and the student body, and includes committee minutes, program reviews, playbills, news releases, and more. Materials housed in the Striegel Archives are not searchable through this site yet, however, some materials have been digitized and are available in our Digital Archives.
Using the Archives
Materials are only available for use by appointment and do not circulate. For information about accessing the physical collections, visit McFarland Library Archives.
