Scope and Contents
Reverend Bartell was born in Pocohantas, Iowa, and studied at Central College, Pella, Iowa and New Brunswick Seminary, Holland, Michigan. He graduated in 1934. He was a minister in the Synod of the West, a German language Synod of the Presbyterian Church. The Synod dissolved in 1959. Reverend Bartell discusses his life in the church and the dissolution of the Synod.
