Scope and Contents

Box 1: Planners and Opera House scheduling books 1893-94, 1896, 1910-27, 1937-38, One combination thermometer and calendar advertising the Big Store; Box 2: Correspondence, blueprints, photographs, financial records of a general mercantile store in Minneota, Lyon County. The store was founded by Icelandic immigrants, and included an opera house which was used for many community activities. Collection includes opera house date books, and a short history of the store written by Sharlotte Anderson Mendenhall, daughter of one of the store's owners.
