Scope and Contents

Dr. William Bechtol, Director of Omega College, Southwest State University, donated the papers concerning the T.R.I., Right to Read Project. The papers include correspondence, Teacher Education Program 1975, ERA (Earned Reading Achievement), reference language arts objectives, tests, evaluations, and answer keys for the years 1973-76. T.R.I. is Total Reading Involvement. It was part of a grant to Southwest State University to develop a program of training teachers for reading programs in local schools. The collection contains mainly reports sent out by the local agent, Southwest State University .
